How people are helping to keep the centre open

January 2018 SEDA UK donated for SEDA vocational training center sri lanka

May's fundraising events in the UK - Annual Football Tournament & Afternoon tea party

May 2015 see's SEDA UK Foundation host their first 2 events in the UK, to help raise much needed funds to keep our training centre open in Colombo.

The first event will be held on 23rd May at Power League in Arnos Grove, where we will be running our annual 5 a side football tournament. 8 Teams from across London will be battling head to head for the title of SEDA football Champions, which last year was won by Football For Peace. Will they retain their title this year? Head along to Power league in Arnos Grove between 10.30 am & 1:30 pm to see who wins, and purchase a few SEDA cupcakes (donated by Dottie's Vintage Teas) to help us raise some more money.

The second event will be held on 24th May in Grays, Essex, where we will be hosting an Afternoon Tea Garden Party. Tickets are £15 for adults and you will be treated to a delicious 4 course afternoon tea menu, including delicate fusion sandwiches, sri lankan treats, traditional scones with jam & cream, and a selection of delicious cakes using some of English and Sri Lankans most famous ingredients. All of this will be washed down with traditional ceylon tea and some exciting tea cocktails. For tickets please contact Lisa Keerthichandra on 07904 262377 or email Lisa.Darton@gmail.com before 21st May.

SEDA would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Mr and Mrs Chandrawansa who kindly and lovingly hosted a Summer Fayre in London, raising a remarkable £600 for our training centre in Colombo.

Dharshana & Lisa attended this event to make a speech about the wonderful work taking place at the centre. People also donated their time and skills to provide massages, nail painting, cupcakes, ice creams, tea & coffee, and of course lots of delicious Sri Lankan food to the attending public. Thanks to the generosity of the sponsors, organisers and all those who helped and attended the fayre, we are able to keep the centre running for a further 2 months.

Thank you everyone in the UK that attended the Annual SEDA 5 - a - side football tournament, helping to raise funds for our vocational training program.

It was a fun packed day in glorious sunshine with lots of fast passed footy, leading to... the eventual crowning of our first ever SEDA 5 - a - side champions in a very close final match.

Thank you also for the cakes and cupcakes that were donated and sold on the day. A whopping £350 was raised which will keep us running for a whole month :o) Thank you to all those involved, we look forward to an even bigger and better tournament next year
