It was also great for the trainees to interact with young people of similar age, and the college volunteers really took the time to chat with them on a personal level. They busied themselves discussing all the latest teen topics whilst working on new craft items. It was encouraging to see such positive energy where everyone just chatted and busied themselves without discrimination of ability.
SEDA believe that its really important for communities to work together to help change the dated beliefs that still linger. This was a fantastic opportunity to involve young people in our project and allow them to form connections with forward thinking and innovative teaching methods. We hope that in working alongside our project for the day, the volunteers were motivated to see that significant change really can make a difference at grass root levels.
