Performing at the launch of the 'End Child Poverty' Knowledge Centre in October the performers dressed in traditional costumes and performed a group dance based on harvesting the crops. Learning the routine in just one day they all graced the stage with poise and confidence and put on a flawless performance.
These young trainees are definitely a shining example of what can be achieved when society stops limiting them. In this modern world its hard to imagine that society is still placing limiting beliefs on individuals, and groups of people like these.
But for their entire childhood these young people have been 'told' by the people around them what they 'will and will not' be able to achieve, by schools, by doctors, by the government and all their governing bodies, possibly even families and friends. Isn't this crazy? So they are born with learning difficulties, that just means its difficult for them, not impossible. It doesn't mean they have no talents or skills because they have a learning difficulty or health problems. It doesn't mean they don't have a deep desire to try new things, whether they are good at it or not, are we all great at everything we try?
In the mean time check out the link here to see their latest performance video below (you'll have to excuse the quality of the video, the performers were much better than the videographer!!!)
